However, if you want to eliminate forward slide, shorten your walking radius, and maximize the bait's agility to snappy rod movements, there is a simple custom adjustment you need to try.

The Modification: Swap out the factory feathered treble for a standard, bare round-bend treble hook on both the front and rear hangers.

It sounds incredibly basic, but removing the fluid drag of the feathers completely frees up the rear of the bait. It sharpens the walking action, unlocks tighter pivot angles, and dramatically increases the responsiveness of the hull.
